IPU CET 2017 Eligibility

The university offers various courses in the area of engineering, law, management, computer application. The eligibility criteria are mentioned here:

Age Criteria:

  • For all UG Courses, candidate age limit should be 21 years as on 1st August 2017.
  • For all other PG Courses, candidates age should be 35 yearsas on 1st August 2017.

Qualification Criteria:

Obtain minimum 55% marks.
B.Tech (Bio-Technology) Pass 12th or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects.
Secure minimum 55% marks.
B.Tech (Lateral Entry) (for Diploma Holders) Pass three years diploma in the following engineering/ technology disciplines from any recognized branch of AICTE with securing minimum 60% marks.
Disciplines: Computer Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Engineering, Plastic Engineering, Printing Technology, Production Engineering, Public Health & Environmental Engineering, Tool & Die Making.

OR
Pass final examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or England, the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India or England or the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
MBA (Information Technology) Pass B.E/B.Tech with minimum 60% marks.
OR
Pass M.Sc (CS), M. Sc (IT), M.Sc (Electronics) with scoring 60% marks.
OR
Pass MCA with minimum 60% marks.
BCA Pass 12th or equivalent exam with English and Mathematics or Computer Science/Informatics Practice/Computer Applications/Multimedia & Web Technology/Data Management Application/Web Application with minimum 50% marks.
OR
Three years diploma in Engineering with scoring minimum 50% marks from a polytechnic recognized by AICTE.
MCA Pass bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks and pass 12th with Mathematics and English.
OR
Pass BCA/BIT/BIS of at least three years duration with minimum 50% marks.
OR
Pass bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology with securing 50% marks in aggregate.
MCA (Lateral Entry) Pass BCA/B.Sc (Information Technology)/B.Sc (Computer Science) degree and must have Mathematics at 12th or graduate level.
Secure at least 55% marks.
LLB Pass 12th or equivalent exam with English subject securing minimum 50% aggregate.
LLM Pass LL.B degree as recognized by the Bar Council of India for Enrollment as an Advocate or an equivalent Law Degree from a Foreign University with not less than 50% marks.

IPU CET Exam Pattern

  • Mode: The exam will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper based mode).
    • The question paper will be asked in OMR pattern.
  • Candidates are required to use only black ball pen to mark answers.
  • Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
    • Negative marking will be done for wrong answers and for more than one answer to each question.
  • No of Questions: The question paper will comprise in total 150 questions for all programmes (except B.Tech. Biotechnology).
    • Total 200 questions will be asked for B.Tech (Biotechnology).
  • Marking Scheme: The questions will be objective type and each question will carry four marks for each correct response.
  • Duration: The exam duration will be two and a half hours (for B.Tech. Biotechnology, three hours exam duration).
  • Language: The question paper language will be English.

IPU CET Syllabus

Syllabus for undergraduate courses will be based on the diploma or 10+2 level. The CET syllabus for different courses will be different and the questions will be asked from the related field of the course. For better exam preparations, candidates should gather the complete information about the official syllabus and prepare accordingly

IPU CET 2017 Admit Card

The IPU CET 2017 Admit Card will be available before one week from the examination date. The admit card can be download through the official website of the university. It is mandatory to bring the admit card at the examination hall. Candidates must keep safe the admit card till the admission procedure. Re-issue of duplicate admit card will not be entertained after the examination.

IPU CET 2017 Result

The IPU CET 2017 Result will be provided to students via online mode. The result will be released after one month from the examination date. After result announcement a merit list will be prepared according to the marks obtained by the candidates in CETs. Candidates are suggested to keep the printout of the result for further use.

Guidelines for Filling of Application Form IPU CET 2017

 

In addition to the instructions available at FAQ on the University website, the following guidelines may be read by all applicants before filling the application form:

 

  • The candidates are advised to go through the admission Brochure carefully and acquaint themselves with all requirements in respect to filling up of the Online Application Forms for the CET.
  • It will be the sole responsibility of the candidate to make sure that he / she is eligible and fulfills all the conditions prescribed for admission.
  • If ineligibility of a candidate is detected at any stage before or after examination / declaration of result or during any stage of the programme, his / her candidature / admission will be cancelled without any notice, disciplinary action will be taken against him / her and entire fee will also be forfeited. The Vice Chancellor, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University may cancel the admission of any student for specific reasons at any stage.
  • Incomplete application form will be summarily rejected and no request will be entertained in this regard.
  • CET Code: If the candidate is desirous of appearing in more than one Test, separate Application Form should be submitted for each test. Verify the CET Code from the List of Programmes in Admission Brochure before submitting the form. Any request / application for change of CET Code will NOT be entertained.
  • The AADHAR ID: The candidate should write their 12 digit AADHAR ID or number.
  • Name of the Candidate: Candidates should write his / her Name in CAPITAL LETTERS as given in Class X or equivalent certificate. If your name has several initials, leave one blank after each of them.
  • Name of Father / Mother: Write the name of your Father or Mother exactly as in your Class X or equivalent certificate. Writing mother’s name is compulsory.
  • Date of Birth: Enter the date, month and year of your birth as per English calendar and as recorded in your School / Board (Class – X) / Pre-University examination certificate. Birth field is mandatory. If date of birth is not filled, the date of birth value of 01.01.1950 will be used.
  • Category: Select the appropriate option for your categories – SC, ST, OBC, Physically Handicapped / Persons with disablity, Defence and J & K Migrant. If no category is specified, you would be considered as falling under ‘General’ category. And, no claim whatsoever shall be entertained thereafter. Category certificate to be verified during admission / Counseling. If a candidate falls in more than two categories, he / she can select multiple options. If a general category candidate fills up a reserved category, then the candidature for admission to be considered if and only if the rank is within the general cut off rank.
  • Gender: Select the correct option.
  • Region: Select the option titled “Delhi Region” if you have passed your qualifying examination from any school / college located in Delhi or from any institution affiliated to GGSIP University. Select the option titled “Outside Delhi” if you have passed your qualifying examination from any school / college located in any other part of the country (India)excluding the institutions affiliated to GGSIP University. Incorrectness in Region may lead to cancellation of admission on verification of documents
  • Qualifying Exam: Select the option titled “PASSED” if you have already passed 10+2 or any other specified qualifying examination, which makes you eligible for the Entrance Test. Select the option titled “APPEARING” if you are appearing for the examination, which makes you eligible. The title “APPEARING” covers the cases of “APPEARED” candidates also.
  • Religion: Select the appropriate option. Minority certificate will be verified at the time of admissions for consideration of admissions in minority institutions.
  • Nationality: If your nationality is Indian, option indicated for “INDIAN”. If your nationality is not Indian; option indicated for “OTHERS”.
  • Mailing Address: Write your name and complete mailing address IN CAPITAL LETTERS including the PIN CODE. Candidates are required to enter correct Mobile numbers with relevant STD Code and email address at which the SMS/communication is to be sent.
  • Photograph of the Candidate: The candidate should upload his / her recent colour photograph with white background of size as specified your face should cover about 75% of the photograph (without attestation)taken on or after 01st January of the admission year. The candidate should also upload his / her scanned signature and scanned left thumb impression. Instructions for photograph
  • Photograph should not have cap, goggles etc. (Spectacles are allowed). The face of the candidate should cover about 75% of the photo
  • The candidate should keep two identical photographs with him / her, in reserve which may have to be used for pasting in the Admit Card at the time of Entrance Test / Counseling / Admission, in case of doubt regarding the identity.
  • Visible Mark of Identification: Candidate should mention visible mark of identification.
  • Centre of Common Entrance Test:
    • Refer to the list of Centres of Common Entrance Test for the Academic Programmes and CET Codes mentioned in this Admission Brochure. A centre will be invoked only if sufficient number of candidates are available.
    • Examination Centre once allotted by the University will not be changed and no request in this regard will be entertained under any circumstances. In case the first and second option for centre are not invoked or due to any other reason, then the candidate will be allocated Delhi Centre
  • Verification and Counter signatures: While filling up of the application form, the candidate must verify the correctness of all the particulars furnished by him / her. In case any candidate is found to have furnished false information or is found to have concealed any material information in his / her application, he / she will be debarred from admission. Further, such a candidate shall also be liable for punishment
  • The candidate will be solely responsible for all the consequences arising out of any error or omission in the Application Form.
  • Candidates for MBBS Programme: Falling under army quota are also eligible for admission to other colleges of Medical Science, on the basis of other categories (including General) to which the candidate may belong, and must fill up the appropriate option in the application form.
