Nationality:

  1. Citizenship: Candidates must be either:
    • A citizen of India, or
    • A subject of Nepal, or
    • A subject of Bhutan, or
    • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
    • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit for SSC JHT

  1. Junior Hindi Translators (JHT), Junior Translators (JT), and Senior Hindi Translators (SHT): Candidates must be not more than 30 years old as of the specified cutoff date. In other words, the candidate’s date of birth should not be later than the cutoff date and should not be earlier than the specified date.
  2. Hindi Pradhyapak (in Central Hindi Training Institute): Candidates must be not more than 30 years old as of the specified cutoff date. In other words, the candidate’s date of birth should not be later than the cutoff date and should not be earlier than the specified date.

Educational Qualifications for SSC JHT

  1. Junior Hindi Translators (JHT) and Junior Translators (JT):
    • Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Hindi or English with Hindi or English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the Bachelor’s degree level.
  2. Senior Hindi Translators (SHT):
    • Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Hindi or English with Hindi or English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the Bachelor’s degree level.
    • Candidates should also have at least two years of experience in Translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa.
  3. Hindi Pradhyapak (in Central Hindi Training Institute):
    • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at the degree level or a Bachelor’s degree in English with Hindi as one of the subjects at the degree level.
