Syllabus for SSC MTS Exam

Paper 1 of SSC MTS

Paper 2 of SSC MTS 

Paper-II is a descriptive paper that assesses the candidate’s writing skills. It consists of a short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.

Eligibility Criteria for SSC MTS Exam

Nationality:

Candidates must be either:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit for SSC MTS 

  • Minimum Age: 18 years
  • Maximum Age: 27 years (Note: Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules.)

Educational Qualifications for SSC MTS 

Candidates must have passed Matriculation (10th class) or its equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.

Exam Pattern for SSC MTS Exam

Paper 1 of SSC MTS 

  • Total Questions: 100
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer is awarded 1 mark, and there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

Paper 2 of SSC MTS 

  • Total Marks: 50
  • Duration: 30 minutes
  • Candidates are required to write a short essay/letter in English or any language included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution.

  1. Paper-I is an objective-type paper, while Paper-II is a descriptive paper.
  2. Paper-I is used to shortlist candidates for Paper-II.
