The Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP) was instituted in by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of School Education and Literacy, Government of India to recognize and celebrate excellence in sanitation and hygiene practice in schools. The Government of India has now decided to include the private schools affiliated to CBSE, CISCE, State Board etc as well as Central Government Schools, i.e. Kendriya Vidyalayas and Navodaya Vidyalayas, Sainik Schools etc. Thus the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar will be open to (a) Government and aided schools; and (b) Private schools, in both rural and urban areas.

In order to ensure the participation of all the schools, the Ministry of Human Resource Development vide D. O letter No.F.27-11/2017-EE.16 dated 11^th September, 2017 (Annexure –I) has issued detailed step by step instructions alongwith schedule for the award and the Mission Statement on Swachh Bharat Swachh Vidyalaya.

Therefore, the  schools  affiliated  with  Board  may  apply  online  (http://mhrd.gov.in  or  by downloading mobile app, Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar ) for the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar latest by 31^st October, 2017. The participation of schools affiliated with the Board in this ambitious and innovative initiative would be appreciated.
