Post Description

Pay Scale Level 13 (Rs.123100-215900/-) in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. (Total Emoluments excluding T.A. & HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.123100/- D.A. as applicable per month approximately).
Age Not exceeding 50 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for Government servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government. For age concession applicable to some other categories of applicants, please see relevant paras of the ‘Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection.’
Essential Qualificaiton (s) Kindly note the Educational Qualification for the post-

(i) Master degree in Law with specialization in the field of International Law and / or International Relations or International Organisations from a recognized University.

Note: International Law would, inter alia, include major areas of International Law such as Law of the Sea, Human Rights Law, International Environmental Law, International Criminal Law and International Trade Law.

(ii) Candidates having specialization in International Law in M. Phil. or Ph. D. level but not at Master level will also be eligible.

Note 1: Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Desirable Qualificaiton (s) Doctorate in International Law.
Duty(ies) To assist Legal and Treaties Division on Legal aspects concerning Indias International Treaties, Laws of seas, rivers etc.
Probation One year for direct recruits and Two years for Armed Forces Personnel re-employed.
Head Quarter Headquarters is in New Delhi with All India Service Liability or abroad
Other Details General Central Service, Group “A” Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The post is permanent

Post Description

Pay Scale Level-8 (Rs. 47600–151100) in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC. Total Emoluments excluding T.A. and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs.47600/- plus D.A. as applicable per month approximately).
Age Not exceeding 30 years for General and EWS category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Class candidates and 35 years for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servants up to 5 years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government. Essential Qualificaiton (s) A. EDUCATIONAL-
Master of Science Degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-exploration or Earth Science and Resource Management or Hydrogeology or Master of Technology in Engineering Geology from a recognized University.NOTE- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualificaiton (s)
Duty(ies) Undertake Reappraisal Hydrogeological Surveys, Monitoring of Hydrograph Network Station. To undertake artificial recharge studies conjunctive use, water shed management pollution, mathematical modeling studies etc. Periodic Ground Water Resource assessment, Data collection, preparation of Hydrogeological maps, atlases. Assistance in organizing workshops / seminars /exhibitions, etc.
Probation Two years for direct recruits.
