Conduct of Examinations for Classes 9th, 11th and commencement of New Academic Session 2021-22

The Board has taken a decision to reschedule the Board Examinations 2021 to May-June, because of the unprecedented situation arising due to COVID-19 Pandemic.

As a result a number of schools have been seeking advice from CBSE regarding examinations for Classes IX & XI and about the commencement of new Academic Session 2021-2022. Accordingly the schools are advised as follows:

Conduct of Examinations for Classes 9th, 11th and commencement of New Academic Session 2021-22

  1. CBSE has announced the Date Sheet for classes X and XII, and provided sufficient time for preparation to the students for their Board examinations.
  2. Schools have opened in a majority of State and with the improvement of COVID 19 Pandemic situation, it is expected that schools will be opened in other States/UTs also.
  3. Schools should be fully geared up and prepared to welcome the students for face to face classes. This will help students to attend schools for completing their practicals and to make preparation for final examinations. They can practice their writing skills and resolve doubts. Teachers should focus on each individual student and assess the learning gaps; and try to address these.
  4. For classes IX and XI also, schools should take steps to identify and remedy the learning gaps and thereafter, conduct examinations by strictly following COVID safety protocols as per Examination Bye-Laws. This exam will also help in identifying learning gaps which could be addressed by the schools in new academic session, at the beginning of classes, by having a bridge course specially designed to address learning gaps.
  5. While holding examinations/classes, COVID safety protocols should be followed
  6. It would be appropriate to start the academic session 2021-2022 from 1st April, 2021 to the extent feasible subject to the instructions of the State Government.

All schools are requested to follow the above suggestions to make the next session more streamlined and ensure that learning gaps, if any, are addressed.
