LL.M. Programme

There are 100 multiple choice Objective Type Questions of one mark each which has to be answered in the OMR Sheet.

There is One Essay Question of 50 Marks which has to be answered in Separate Sheet.

Ph.D. Programme

There are 100 multiple choice Objective Type Questions of one mark each which has to be answered in the OMR Sheet.

Negative marking: There will be Negative Marking in AILET 2018. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark.

 On the login page, click on the Register to apply now

  • Read relevant details about the course and application from the home page links. Most importantly, Eligibility Criteria, Selection Process and Reservation Guidelines.
  • Fill the details into User Registration Form.
  • Confirm Registration details by clicking on the Confirm button.
  •  After you Login in the first page that is displayed is “Application Locker”. Click on NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY from the List of colleges
  •  Choose your application form and click on Apply
  • Fill all details on the form for each of the sections. Incomplete forms will be summarily rejected.
  • Click Submit for saving all details and proceeding back to the Application Locker for making Payment for all pending application forms.
  • In the Application Locker, under the Pending Applications area, Choose your forms for which you wish to make payment and Click on Make Payment.
  • On the Make Payment Page, Choose Mode of Payment and verify the Amount and Click on Proceed.

When Credit Card /Debit Card & Net Banking Mode is selected then do as follows

  • On the next page give your card details like Card No. and the expiry date. Please keep ready your Internet Banking password against the Card for which you are making a transaction.
  • If mode of payment is Net banking, you will be forwarded to the respective bank’s site where your account details are verified and payment approved.
  • After that click proceed .

After payment has been received, you will receive confirmation through mail after which student will view & print acknowledgment slip from their e-mail or from the Application Locker under the Application Submitted area

DATE FOR ALL INDIA LAW ENTRANCE TEST (AILET)            : MAY 6, 2018 (3:00 PM to 4:30 PM)

The NATIONAL LAW UNIVERSITY, DELHI established in 2008 by Act No. 1 of 2008 is premier Law University established in the capital city of India. The University invites applications for admission to B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes for the Academic Year commencing from August, 2018. Eligibility, total seats and other details for these Programmes are as under:

B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)- Five-Year Programme

Eligibility: Senior Secondary School Examination (10+2 System) or Equivalent Examination with 50% marks. The candidates appearing in the 12th standard examination in March/April, 2018 can also apply.

Total Seats: 80 [70 Seats on merit through All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and 10 Seats for direct admission to Foreign Nationals on merit]. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET. Foreign Nationals to be eligible should have obtained 65% marks in the qualifying examination.

Reservation: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates and 5% for Persons with Disabilities.

Note:  One additional seat for kashmiri migrants. Two supernumerary seats for Residents of Jammu & Kashmir. .

LL.M.-One-Year Programme

Eligibility: LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). The candidates appearing in final year LL.B. Examination in April/May, 2018 can also apply.

Total Seats: 35+5 Seats for Foreign Nationals. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET (No. of seats may vary).

Reservation: 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 5% for Persons with Disabilities.

Ph.D.-Programme

Eligibility: LL.M. Degree with 55% Marks or its Equivalent (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). For detailed eligibility conditions visit University website www.nludelhi.ac.in

Admission to B.A.LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. and Ph.D. Programmes will be through AILET to be conducted at Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhopal,

Chandigarh, Chennai, Cochin, Cuttack, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Jodhpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Raipur, and Varanasi on May 6, 2018 (Sunday).

Interested candidates should apply only online on payment of Rs.3,050/- (Rupees Three Thousand Fifty Only) for General Candidates, Rs.1,050/- (Rupees One thousand Fifty only) in case of SC/ST and Persons with Disabilities (PD) along with copy of requisite Caste/Persons with Disabilities Certificate. Below Poverty Line (BPL) applicants of SC/ST Category are exempted from application fee. AILET 2018 Eligibility

 

B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) AILET 2018 Eligibility

  • All candidates, other than those applying under the Foreign Nationals category, should appear for the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and selection shall be solely on that basis.
  • Candidates should score at least 40% of the marks in the AILET (30% for SC/ ST candidates)
  • In order to appear for the AILET, candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination and scored a minimum of 50%. However, candidates appearing for 10+2 examinations in the year of the AILET can also apply, provided they meet the above eligibility at the time of admission.

 

LL.M. AILET 2018 Eligibility

LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree with 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disabilities). The candidates appearing in final year LL.B. Examination in April/May, 2018 can also apply.

Ph. D. AILET 2018 Eligibility

To be admitted to the candidature for a doctoral degree an applicant shall have:

  • A Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational Institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority, established or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country for the purpose of assessing, accrediting or assuring quality and standards of educational institutions.

Or

  • obtained a degree in law and Master’s Degree with M. Phil. in social sciences or humanities of any recognised university with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).
    Provided that candidates with qualifications in social sciences and humanities may be admitted to the programme if the research they wish to pursue interfaces with the discipline of law with a special focus on Public Policy or Law.For the above two categories, a relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade, may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time, or for those who had obtained their Master’s degree prior to 19th September, 1991. The eligibility marks of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories mentioned above are permissible based only on the qualifying marks without including the grace mark procedures.

Or

  • Candidates possessing a Degree in law and Master’s Degree considered equivalent to M.Phil. Degree of an Indian Institution, from a Foreign Educational Institution accredited as per UGC Regulations shall be eligible for admission to Ph.D. programme.

Or

  • Degree in law and Ph.D. in any discipline.

Or

  • Judge of any State High Court in India with three years’ experience or Judge of Supreme Court of India.

Or

  • A foreign student, who is interested to enroll from outside India from reputed University/Institutions may be allowed to be registered for Ph.D. in National Law University Delhi subject to the condition that one supervisor will be from the National Law University Delhi and one from the parent foreign University/Institutions of the student. He /She will be exempted from appearing in the Entrance Test subject to the condition that he/she fulfills the other minimum eligibility conditions. The Vice-Chancellor will be competent to allow registration of such students on case to case basis on the recommendations of Doctoral Committee. The student will be required to visit National Law University Delhi for Viva-Voce to defend his/her Thesis as per University Regulations.
  • The Vice-Chancellor may permit a member of the NLU, Delhi faculty to take up Ph.D. Degree course along with his / her teaching assignment in the interest of faculty improvement on the condition that his / her teaching and other responsibilities are not hampered in any way provided such candidates fulfill the conditions prescribed in the Ph.D. Regulations.

AILET 2018 SEATS

B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)- Five-Year Programme

  • The University admits 80students every year to the B.A.LL.B. (Hons.)
  • 10 seats are set aside for Foreign Nationals.
  • Of the remaining seats (70), 15% are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribe, 5% for Persons with Disabilities.
    Apart from above 3 seats are supernumerary as follows:
  • 1 seat is reserved for migrants from Kashmir.
  • 2 seats are reserved for residents of Jammu and Kashmir

LL.M.-One-Year Programme
35+5 Seats for Foreign Nationals. Foreign Nationals are exempted from AILET (No. of seats may vary).
