Post Description

Pay Scale/ Salary

  PB -3, Rs. 15600 – 39100 Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 6000(pre revised)

Age

  Not exceeding 35 years. Note 1 Relaxable for Government servants upto five years in accordance with the instructions or orders issued by the Central Government. Note 2 The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the closing date for receipt of applications .

Essential Qualificaiton (s)

  Kindly note the Educational Qualification for the post.

(A) Educational

(i) Good academic record with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 point scale with letter grades O,A, B, C, D, E and F at the Master’s Degree level in History from any recognized university in India or an equivalent degree from a foreign university.

(ii) Should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) for Assistant Professors conducted by the University Grants Commission or Council for Scientific and Industrial Research or similar test accredited by the University Grants Commission.

Note 1. The candidates who have been awarded Doctorate Degree in History are exempted from the requirement of Educational Qualification (ii) above.
Note 2 A relaxation of five per cent marks from fifty five per cent to fifty per cent at the Master’s level for the Scheduled Caste or the Scheduled Tribe category.
Note 3 A relaxation of five per cent from fifty five per cent to fifty percent may be provided to the Doctorate Degree holders who have passed their Master’s Degree prior to 19th September 1991.
Note 4 A relaxation of five per cent of marks from fifty five per cent to fifty percent may be provided at the Master’s level to candidates who have cleared the Junior Research Fellowship examination conducted by University Grants Commission or Council for Scientific and Industrial Research prior to 1989 when the minimum marks required to appear for Junior Research fellowship were fifty per cent.
Note 5 The grade of B’ in the 7 point scale with letter grades O,A,B,C,D,E and F shall be regarded as fifty five per cent of marks wherever the grading system is followed.
Note 6 Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Note 7 The term “Good Academic Record” means at least 55 % marks or an equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the 7 point scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E and F at Master’s Degree level in the relevant subject i.e. English from and Indian University or an equivalent Degree from accredited Foreign University.
Note 8 The term “an equivalent degree from a foreign university” for educational qualification (i) above means the candidate having obtained two years Master Degree from an accredited University, pursued full time on the campus of its origin subject to submission of equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities.

Desirable Qualificaiton (s)

  (1) Proficiency in games or cultural activities.

(2) Experience of Military training or National Cadet Corps or Scouting.

(3) Proficiency in English in the concerned subject.

Duty(ies)

  To teach cadets as per training programme/syllabus. In addition, to participate outdoors social and cultural extracurricular activities of cadets in hilly/uneven terrain, holding of stores, special duties of liaising with Companies of Cadets, Superintendent Examinations, OIC Academic Results etc

Probation

  One year.
